Want to do a little troubleshooting, before you call us?  To help determine if you do have a leak, try checking your water meter:

Turn off all water inside and outside your home.  If your home has any of the following, be sure to shut them off:  evaporative cooler, reverse osmosis, and any irrigation or sprinkler systems.  And, don’t use the icemaker for awhile before this test.

When everything has been turned off, and you’re certain no water is being used inside or outside your house, check your water meter.  Remove the cover and check the dials for movement.  Most meters have a “leak detector” arrow, which spins to record the low volume of water use that is common with water leaks.  If this dial is moving, you have a leak!

If you find a leak, you can attempt to determine where the problem is:

Turn off portions of the water system and re-check the meter for movement.  For instance, turn off the sprinkler valves to isolate the irrigation system; turn off your pool filler to isolate your pool; turn off your water heater to isolate the hot water lines from the cold water lines.  You can also turn off the  main shut off valve to the house to determine if the leak is in (or under) the house, or in the water service between your meter and the house.
